The ideal candidate will perform and coordinate the detailed technical health and safety activities associated with the facility's daily functions.
Develop and maintain appropriate control and auditing systems, and to provide leadership to employees to promote a safety culture, and develop the safety skills.
A.
Support plant safety compliance per regulations- Maintain knowledge of OSHA & MIOSHA standards and how those standards are to be applied to the facility.
This includes inspection / review of new equipment and materials for the plant, conduct inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, promote effective communication between supervisors & employees to ensure all are informed and working together.
B.
Support HS programs, policies and procedures- Support and assist HS Manager with strategic planning for development and use of specific awareness programs (5-S and Housekeeping, etc.
) Maintain and update as necessary safety policies and procedures while monitoring compliance to legal and other requirements.
Facilitate Health and Safety Team meetings for the plant safety and WCM teams.
C.
Support the ISO 45001 Safety Management System- Communicate the performance of the EMS to employees.
Maintain and improve the EMS in accordance with the requirements of the International standard.
Responsible for collecting data for permit filing.
D.
Collect data for reporting requirements- Collect data and information for tracking progress on programs or other applications required for compliance or audits.
Promote an effective communication system through distribution of data to employees.
E.
Support HR functions and training activities Requirements:
3-5 years of experience Manufacturing experience is a plus with some supervisory experience Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred Must have ability to read, write and comprehend English.
Must have basic blueprint and work instruction reading ability.
Ability to accurately read Micrometers and calipers.
Understand Geometric tolerances and their meanings.
WORK CONDITIONS Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment (50% of time exposed to plant conditions) such as noise, odors, silica, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
Plant requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed work boots.
